Hi All,
Can any one please explain when will apply named CAL when will apply doc CAL?
if apply doc CAL or named CAL i didn't see any difference in the Access point could you please explain more details
Thanks
Manju
Document CAL should be assigned if you want to give access to END USER specific application only.
Price of Named CAL = 4 * Document CAL (Approximately)
So, if any user is having access of more than 3 documents, you should assign Named CAL instead of Document CAL.
You can read more on CALs by using below links
Thanks For replay ,
I have one more question
i have custom user list in custom directory .i gave authorization for one particular user but i didn't give any DOC CALS or NAMED CALS to that particular user still that user able to see that application
my question is with out assign cal how that user can able see the application?
If you have not enabled dynamic CAL assignment, then the user will be unable to see the document until a CAL or doc license is assigned to the user.
Jonathan, quick question ! can the user able to access the document using session CAL if document authorization is for ALL Users?
Hi Jonathan,
As you said i enabled the dynamic CAL in the document CAL tab. But still the user able to see the application in access point without assigning any of the CAL's.
Note: I havent added any user in the document CAL.

Chetan

hi,
Named CAL : can access more than one document.
Document CAL : can access only one document.
Check this link for CAL access flow
Also I think you need to select Allow Dynamic CAL Assignment in
QMC -> System -> Licenses -> Qlikview Server-> Client Access Licenses -> General
Can you check whether user is accessing the document using Session CAL or any other?
