Need to display memo field with 1000 characters; Is there a limit on number of characters within a field?

I need to display a memo field that potentially has thousand or so characters. I have tried all of the sheet objects, text box, graph, table and all cut off the display of the user comments mid sentence. I cant tell if all of the data is being imported in the script or if the object is limiting display of all characters. How can I expand the number of characters to be displayed?

Issue was with the SQL field def set at VarChar(Max). Changing it to VarChar(8000) expanded the characters from 511 to 8000. Thanks

Hello,

You may try using a text object with

=MEMOFIELD

Where MEMOFIELD is the name of the field is not displaying properly, just to check if it's being loaded right. It should, as there are no limits on how many chars is loading QlikView rather than some other problems related to the ODBC or driver used to retireve the information from the database.

It would be helpful as well if you could post a screen capture of the object in design view (menu View, Design Grid) and a example of the script you are using to load that field.

Hope this helps.

regardless of the control used, it still cuts the display off. I did query the SQL DB and it is returning all the text in the results. I dont know how to validate the contents of the field within QV without an object to display. I attached the QVW with the one line imported. any help would be appreciated.
