Does anyone know anything about why certain values when read in from Oracle or from a .txt file seem to have the Dual() characteristics, even though their display value is reading in alphabetic characters?
For example, when reading in the values below from a .txt file they interpret as Numeric. The only way I can get them to interpret as text is by explicitly forcing them to text.

Except it is only happening at my current client's environment. If I attempt the same excercise at home on my laptop, the values read in as a text value. That seems to indicate that the numeric interpretation is a toggle-able behavior and one I can only duplicate in the client environment.
So is my client developing some new data strain that is impossible for QlikView to read? Or is there some interpretation module/setting that can turn this on or off?
Thoughts appreciated.
