Pivot Table Totaling

How do you show both Column and Row totals in a pivot table. In the presentation tab, "Show Partial Sum" seems to always be grayed out when there ismore than one dimension.

Any help?

Try disabling the 'Indent Mode' in the Style-tab, if that option is disabled then the 'Show Partial Sums' option on the Presentation-tab is not greyed out anymore. The 'Indent Mode' can be enabled later while your choice for the 'Show Partial Sums' option will be unchanged.

Hi:

Open your pivot table properties dialog. Add a new expression: dimensionality() & ‘ – ‘ & secondarydimensionality() and see the result.

Totals have dimensionality()=0 and partial totals one dimensionality() less than the normal cells. Expand and collapse your table to see how it acts.

Secondarydimensionality() works when you have a pivoted dimension or more.

To totalize, for example, say:

If (dimensionality()=0, [your total expression], [your normal expression])

I hope it helps.
