I am using a pivot table to show partial sums of particular staff groups taking training courses, this is fine however i need to perform calulations using the partials sums figure i ama ware i could calculate the figures inidviudaly however i wondererd if possible can you refer to a pivot table partial value so that if the user makes changes and the partial sum changes so does the calculation?

as far as I know it's not possible to refer to certain cell values in a pivot table from outside the table. What you can use inside a table are commands like before(), after() or column(n), but I think that's not what you're looking here for.
