Problem Opening QVW from Access Point

Hello,

I have 2x QVWs visible in the AccessPoint, I can open 1 (using IE Plugin) absolutely fine, but when trying to open the other (again with IE plugin) the Access Point hangs at the "<filename>.qvw is being opened" screen

The document opens fine within the server

It worked fine until today, no changes have been made to security/permissions.

I have tried restoring a backup copy and replacing the file, but it still doesnt open!

What I need to do now?

Running QlikView 9.4

Thanks

Using IE do you have the IE plugin installed on the machine you are trying to open it from? If not, try downloading it and install it on the machine you are using to view the model, also one other thing be sure you are using an IE 32bit, not 64.

Hi Thom,

Yes, I have IE plugin installed (the other QVW opens fine, using the plugin) and am using IE 32bit

I have temporarily gotten around problem by renaming file wihtin the server - Access Point then allows me to open my intended document fine ( I need to update the management console for the scheduled reload). Not ideal, but it works.

When I rename the document to the origial filename, it encounters the same problem and does not open.

Somehow it is blocking me using the original filename (I did have to task manager end the programme earlier when I was developing from the server if that might have caused the problem)

Did have the same problem here.

Somehow QlikView kept the report which couldn't be opened "open".

This way the report couldn't be opened, but also not be replaced or renamed.

After restarting all QlikView services the report was not used by any other process and could be opened again.

Really strange, can't find an explanation ... but we got it working again.

rgrds,

Anita
