Problem formatting X axis on Line Chart

I am having trouble with the format showing the correct decimal places in my chart.  I want to show values as Dollars; Example $6.75, however no matter what i try the system shows 6.7.  I tried formatting my field on the backend(Field,'$#,##.00') and also tried overwriting the expression default on the front end of the chart(using the number tab) and still no luck.  Can someone please help.

My dimension is Quarter and my expression is (Sum({<Grade = {'Grade A'}>} Total),'$#,##0.00;($#,##0.00)')  and this does not work.

The attached jpg file shows my output.

Please help

Thanks for the response, I tried your piece of code and I still show the same results; 6.6, 5.5 etc.  Not sure what is going on.

Go to Axes Tab and Select Static Step as and Type 1

The above is for Expression Axes...

This should work..
