Problem with edit script

Hi everybody,

I have a problem that someone else has already encountered : when i try to edit script on any of my qvw, it freezes... I have already searched on the Community, and tried the different tips (regedit/WindowPos and ALT M) but it didn't worked !!!

I am on Windows 7, with QV11SR2.

Thanks for your help !!!

I have expereinced the same situation, at the end I discovered its becaus I have set User settings --> Save --> Save every 10 minutes. So it didn't freeze all the time but only while it is auto saving. If its a large document then I had to close the file open it again.

I hope it helps!

It happens everytime I try to edit a script, even with a new document... So, it's not my situation !

I already discover the problem in QV11SR1, after a long time using it without any problem...

I tried to uninstall and reinstall, without more success !!!

So, any idea ?

Have you tried installing QlikView desktop on different PC or laptop and edit the sames files on them?

I reckon its a PC, Operating system or profile issue rather than a qlikview one!

Totally agree with you, but the fact are :

  • all my applications are in the same case (non editable on this PC)
  • it worked for several months, and i didn't change something on my PC...

Anybody ?

Ok here are the steps :

1 - Login to different profile on the same PC (E.g. ask your colleague to login) and try editing the files.

If it works, then you need to back up all your desktop and my documents files and ask system admin to delete your profile on your PC. Then try to login with your user and a new profile will be created and everything will work fine.

2 - Compare your operating system, service packs and updates with another PC that's working fine.

Its a lengthy process but you could figure out which service pack or update caused the issue and perhaps try to remove them.

This is what I can recommend you with.

I hope this helps!
