QVP is a proprietary protocol from qlik built on top of TCP. It is used by qlikview desktop when using the "open in server" command, and when using the qlikview activex plugin to open documents from an access point.

QVPX is basically the same protocol but using xml instead of binary to send requests, and is built on top of HTTP. It is used by the qlikview ajax client.

I don't know. Anyway since its a qlikview protocol that is not used in any other software I would be surprised if there was documentation about how qvp works.
