Qlik tells me that i exceeded the amount of recovery times

All.  I was using qlik personal for about two week and now i can not oipen the files.  it told me to call the finance to purchase a license.  When talking to them they told me toi upgrade ad it should work.  I am now at version 12 and i still get the same message.  I only use one machine and one login account.  It keep saying that i was recovering the file, but i was not aware that i would no be able to open my file after a few times.  Can someone help me.  i need to open my reports and now i am dead on the water.  I tough that this was a free version and i am now relying on this software and i am not able to work.

The number of recovery attempts is shown in the text that shows up when it is trying to open something not made by you initially (like a document from the community). This text should have been a red flag for you.

So, lesson learned: Read warnings / error messages .

Apparently you have used all 4 recovery attempts, so you can now only open the document(s) that you opened most recently. Murphy's Law: Probably not the one you needed the most.

The solution to this problem is very easy though: Get a QlikView license.

Call your local Qlik office and I am sure they can help you out .

May you live in interesting times!
