Resize button image problem

I have a 24x24 PNG image that I use for a button as a single image. Whatever I try in scaling the button, setting the width and height on the Caption tab, the button never resizes smaller than a width of 30 pixels.

I have the need to even use Buttons with 16x16 images, so any suggestion to solve this issue would be helpful!

Try using a Text Object instead,  In its properties it has an Action tab so you can set it up to work the same as a button.
