Restricting number of dimension labels on chart

I have a chart that displays data for many dates. What happens is QV stacks up the labels for these dates at the bottom of the graph. I end up with 4 rows of test for the labels. How can I configure the graph to only dispaly a specific number of labels? For example only show 4 - the first, the last, and two inbetween.

How about trying different settings on the Chart Properties \ Axes tab.

In the 'Dimension Axes' section tick the 'Continuous' box (and 'Stagger Labels') and you may find only 3 or 4 dates are displayed.

You could also try changing the orientation on the Primary Dimension labels to vertical.

I think what you need to do is turn off the stagger lable option on the axis.
