Hi
I am trying to setup security on multiple fields using a matrix defined in Excel:
GROUPNO | DivisionCode | RegionCode | BranchCode |
1 | * | * | * |
2 | S | * | * |
3 | * | GT | * |
4 | * | * | KZN |
5 | * | * | JHB |
5 | * | * | CEN |
6 | * | GT | * |
6 | * | * | CPT |
My problem is that I cannot get groupno 6 to work security wise as because of the *, I keep getting all Branches returned instead of all branches only for Region GT and then Branch CPT. Any suggestions on how I can accomplish this?
GROUPNO | DivisionCode | RegionCode | BranchCode |
1 | * | * | * |
2 | S | * | * |
3 | * | GT | * |
4 | * | * | KZN |
5 | * | * | JHB |
5 | * | * | CEN |
6 | * | GT | CPT |
double post
Hi
Your suggestion doesn't work for me as the branch, CPT is not in the region GT. For Group 6, the user must be able to see all branches in region GT as well as branch CPT, which is not in GT.
Hope this explains it.
Assuming CPT branch is in AS region:
GROUPNO | DivisionCode | RegionCode | BranchCode |
1 | * | * | * |
2 | S | * | * |
3 | * | GT | * |
4 | * | * | KZN |
5 | * | * | JHB |
5 | * | * | CEN |
6 | * | GT | * |
6 | * | AS | CPT |
HI
Pls see my attached model. Login with test/1.
The TEST user now has access to all branches because of the * and CPT
And this is my spreadsheet
yep, you're right. The only solution I could find to this data model is to use detailed info as below
GROUPNO | DivisionCode | RegionCode | BranchCode |
1 | * | * | * |
2 | S | * | * |
3 | * | GT | * |
4 | * | * | KZN |
5 | * | * | JHB |
5 | * | * | CEN |
6 | * | WC | CPT |
6 | * | GT | JHB |
6 | * | GT | CEN |
