Show all values doesn't show all values anymore

Hello,

I've made a table in version 8.5 in which I marked the options 'show all values' and 'populate missing cells' for all three dimensions. This worked perfectly until I upgraded to version 10. Since then only the rows containing data are displayed. I tried several options, but I can't get the table to show all values. How can I fix this?

Hi,

actually I've faced the same problem. I was informed by the QlikView support team that this behaviour is as designed - there have been some changes to the pivot table logic. So "show all values" and "populate missing cells" doesn't work in version 10 anymore (and it will not be fixed).

Maybe someone knows how to work-around. I've attached the example. I need a report to show all Items and their sales. It doesn't matter whether I selected only some Items or some of them were not sold - the report should show all Items, that are in the table of Items.

If you open with version 9, the report looks like this (good):

If you open with version 10, the report looks like this (bad):

I would appreciate, if someone could help.

Milda

Hi Milda,

please see the modified example and check the settings.

Good luck!

Thank you Rainer. Yes, I've noticed, that if I deselect "Suppress When Value Is Null" on Year, these zero values are shown. But then why this Null value (-) appears in Year? I don't think that report which shows this strange line all the time is very nice.

Hi Milda,

These Null value (-) in Year appear because Itemno 4856 and 5487 has no sales in no year (so in year (-). And you checked that you want to see the zero values too.

Yes, I understand your logic. But I think a little bit differently: Itemno 4856 and 5487 has no sales in 2010 and no sales in 2011. So I need to see zero at 2010 and zero at 2011.
I guess I just need to accept this new logic. But it just doesn't make sence for me Confused And I will try to find another way to solve this problem.

Hi all,

I also got the same problem when upgrading from QV 9 to QV 10.

The problem appears also in bar chart. I got the same answer from QlikView support that it 'works as designed'.

Has anybody found a workaround for this?

I've found an workaround, but it may not suit your situation. I know for certain that during the first month of this year every client has received some goods and therefore I check if any delivery has been made this year with an if statement. If true the value based on the selection is been shown, if not a 0 is been shown. It looks something like this:

if(sum({$<Year={$(vCurrentYear)},Month= {"<=$(=max({<Year={$(=max(Year))}>} Month))"}>}delivery)>0,Sum(delivery),0)

I hope this helps or gives you some kind of inspiration.
