Hi all
I am wondering what I need to do to set up the following:
- I've got one standalone QV file
- The file has multple sheets showing different views
- I would like to mount 3 different big screens on walls in the offices showing different views of the same QV file
I'm firstly wondering how I will be able to run multiple instances of the same file on the different screens. As far as I know one cannot run more than one instance of the same file on the same processor. If someone can me how to do this my guess is that I could have 3 additional video cards on the computer and then split the views of multiple instances of the same file over the three screens.
Secondly, if multiple instances cannot be run of QV, would I have to use virtual setup of three different windows OS running and opening the file from the same shared folder?
If anyone have any ideas of what the most efficient way will be to do this without needing to use QV server and only stand-alone QV client it will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Jan-Hendrik
Hi,
Since QV load the entire QVW file into memory you can even delete the file from the disk and still be able to work with the one you opend and even save it in a different name.
and you can open as many instances of the file you want, each in a separate QV. and you can manipulate them separately so each shows a different sheet.
the only problem you might have is if you need to update the file (then you must close all instances without saving and then open them again)
but i see no problem in running it on 3 (or more) screens - as long as you have the hardware set
