Some basic question and could not find

Hi,

I am new here on comunity and with QlikView. I am some basic questions that I would thank you if you could help me.

1. What I exactly do with JavaScript API?

2. And what can I do really develop in those modules? Views/graphics of data? Entire user interface?

3. And what does API could help? I need to hava a normal project on QlikView and javascript API is used to access the things I hava in my project?

4. Can I develop modules to QlikView Personal Edition? And server edition?
