Solved: Straight Table : Nested Aggregation Not Allowed - Qlik Community

Hi all,

In the process of testing QV11 SR12 (currently on SR4).

The straight table worked okay in SR4 but I am receiving the following error in SR12.

Am using straight table as opposed to Pivot as I want the data displayed as a butterfly table.

Error in expression: Nested aggregation not allowed.

An example of the formula used is...

=sum({<ind_Period = {'Current'}> } ind_OnHandValue)

Any ideas?

The way QV reports syntax errors has changed in latest SR (i.e. it may now stop showing content and displays an error message). Have a look into Rob Wunderlich's latest blog entry.

I can't see anything wrong with your expression, though. Maybe you are looking not at the right expression, the issue can also be caused by e.g. Color Attribute expressions etc.

Thanks, Rob's blog explained how to change the "Silent Error in Chart" option to 1.
