Stream Data from Pentaho Kettle into QlikView via JDBC

Hi

I just read this blog entry

TIQView Blog - Stream Data from Pentaho Kettle into QlikView via JDBC - A Blog about QlikView Data I...

From which I quote :

This allows us to stream data from a Pentaho Kettle or PDI transformation right into QlikView without the need for any data persistence in between. This means we can connect to any output step of a transformation to gather the data.

And also it references this url :

The Thin Kettle JDBC driver - Pentaho Wiki

From which I quote :

Any Java-based, JDBC-compliant tool, including third-party reporting systems, can use this driver to query a Kettle

transformation using a SQL string via JDBC.

So from that I deduce that Direct Discovery could query a Kettle transformation via this Thin Kettle JDBC Driver ?

I'd be very interested to hear anybody's thoughts on this ?

Best Regards     Bill

Did you manage to configure this, as far as i know, is only supported by Pentaho Enterprise Edition, after some reviews i found it cost 50k/year .

Hello,

Data Services via the Thin Kettle JDBC driver

As per your query The Thin Kettle JDBC Driver provides a means for a Java-based client to query the results of a transformation.

Please follow below steps

  • Connect, combine and transform data from multiple sources
  • Query data directly from any transformation
  • Access architected blends with the full spectrum of Pentaho Analytics
  • Manage governance and security of data for on-going accuracy

For more info please look into how to use kettle jdbc driver to stream data.
