TOTAL Modifier question

Hi everybody

How can I use total modifier (sum (TOTAL<field>)) when <field> isn't a dimension of the chart?

This might be a very basic problem, but I've found no way of working around it yet.

My example:
I want to represent an evolution line of the market share for each product in each period

Chart dimensions:
Period and Product

My expression is:
Sum (Units) / Sum (Total <Period,Market> Units) -> doesn't work because Market isn´t a dimension of the chart

Thanks in advanced

Diego

Hi Diego,

I don't think the TOTAL modifier is suitable for your specific need. The TOTAL modifier will sum all of the records associated with your chart dimension, or will make a subtotal based on the specified fields, but those fields must be in the chart.

Maybe you should try with set analysis to specify the market you want to take into account before using the TOTAL modifier.

Mike.
