Hi,
I am new to qlikview. I really appreciate some one can help me with this.
I recenlty used QV management console to automatly reload a qvw file but failed.
One of the data sources is excel spreadsheet which saved in QV server.
If I commented '//' the excel spreadsheet, the reloading was successful. But if I uncommented it, the reloading failed. So I have to import the data in the excel using INLINE table.
Although the problem could be solved, in theory, reloading data from different data sources by QV management console should be fine. Then why the problem happened??
The user-account with which the server runs is probably differently to your (or from your boss) and might not have the proper access rights to this file. But before checking this - could you reload these qvw with your account within the fat-client to exclude that there any other errors.

The reason might be that the user from server-account hadn't the appropriate access right to these folder/files. I suggest to login with this server user and use the qlikview table-wizard to access these excel-file. It avoids possible errors within the syntax or the file-format and you will see if could access those folder and files.

Marcus, sorry for the late reply.
Users are my boss and me. We both have QV full license and access right to the files. So it is quite strange that we can't reload the excel spreadsheets saved in server.
Hi
What Marcus Sommer is talking about is: try logging in to the server using the service account and make sure you have access to the files then.

Hi,
Are you using relative path for accessing the excel file?
if not there may be a chance that, you are using the complete path in local development PC, where as the path is different in the server.
Thanks
Hi,
Do you have the error message you are receiving through the QMC?
I think Marcus has the right idea with it being down user rights.
If you access the dashboard directly and try reloading is it ok? (i.e. open in the desktop client)
If so it will be that the Service account set up to run QMC does not have access to excel file.
You can check what account is being used in the services console in windows.
Find the QlikView Management Services, right click and properties, Log on.
Another thing to check for is the path in the script, Make sure it is using a UNC path to the file location and not a mapped drive I.E. M:\..\Document.xls
Hope this helps.
Mark
Really sorry for the late reply. I can manually reload the QVW. Your suggestion is worth trying. Our IT admin will help us with that. Thanks.
Thanks for your suggestion.
