User Book marks are missing all of sudden

Hi All,

We are using QlikView 12 ,  All of a sudden after entering in the new year, we found that some of the reports User Bookmarks are missing.

Please, somebody, advise why user shared bookmarks will disappear all of sudden?

Is there any link between year change and Book marks missing ?

Not even found in Shared file viewer

Thanks in advance.

Hi @sponguru

Bookmarks are stored in .shared or .tshared files, normally located in the same file directory as the .qvw files. Qlik Support article What is a Shared/TShared file? has good information on this.

If for whatever reason the .shared/.tshared files cannot be accessed, or were renamed or deleted; or their corresponding  .qvw files were renamed or moved, then bookmarks won't be present.  Also, the .shared/.tshared files could become corrupted, preventing them from being present.

How many .qvw files are effected?

Are .shared/.tshared files properly excluded from anti-virus scanning (or other applications that scan in real time)?
Have you reviewed the QlikView Server Events log for errors involving .shared/.tshared files?  If not, that is a good place to start.

If you need further assistance, suggest that you contact Qlik Support directly.

Best Regards
