User changes in Access Point

Hi,

In Access Point, users can change columns in pivot tables, resize or move objects etc in a sheet.

How long would such changes persist? For example, changing a pivot table which is not a server object.

Thanks!

Hi!

Do you mean, if the developer adds some changes and re deploy the app in AP, how would this affect the user's changes?

This is kind of tricky, we have this possibility enabled in our server and our users clone, create and made a lot of custom objects that they use for business. If i as a developer make any change that impact the model of the app this may have direct impact in user's changes. Removing fields, replacing fields, moving logic from UI to model (expression to script). All of this can "break" the changes made by the users.

I dont know if this answers your question.

Please let me know.

Kind regards,

Ctrl + Alt + S and then check all boxes

And meantime, try to check Allow move from layout TAB for each object

Hi,

i don't know if i got your point, but i think those changes are at user level, so if user A made some changes only A will be available to see them.

This is stored in the .Shared file in the folder of the report in AP, if you delete this file all changes will be deleted for all users.

Let me know if this helps.

Kind regards,

Hi Santiago,

Yes, you got it..

If possible, could you please verify when or which  changes which are done by the developer would override the user's changes.

Thank You!

Thanks, Anil.

I needed info about the changes that users already did. As Santiago clarified.

Hi Dafnis,

User created object in the server are specific to those user and it will be not visible to other user until they are made as the shared objects .The developers will get access only when it is shared and I don't think you can edit those objects ..you need to create a new object in the desktop client and then make it available for everyone
