User submitted comparison data

Hi,

I am thinking of adding something to my document in which I am able to compare data in relation to 2 dates. My idea is for the user to enter the dates into 2 textboxes and when they click the button they are able to see the data for those dates on the report.

How should I go about this, I just don't know how I would start this?-should I use triggers for onclick on the button? The dimensions I would use are:
Date, time, MP

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

Use logic fields, no button needed at all!
