Hello gurus
I needed a vertical reference line in my chart which is based on month/year dimension.
Before applying the vertical reference line the chart looked like so:
In order to get the vertical reference line I had to change the Dimension Axis to Continuous. But that changed the displayed values of the dimension and added a semi monthly grid. Here it is:
How can I format the Dimension to show MonthName (month and year as above) which is not in the Number formatting tab and how can I get rid of the "mid month" grid?
Thanks
Josh
Can you post the QVW with sample data ?
the app is way too large.
I will try to set a smaller sample
Hi,
seems to work with 'MMM YYYY' as date format:
hope this helps
regards
Marco
Marco you are the best.
however why do I get a Mid Month grid?
Had the same problem just the other day. To fix it I replaced my SalesDate dimension with the following expression:
=Date(MonthStart(SalesDate),'MMM-YYYY')
The MonthStart function will convert all dates to the first day of the month. So, 7/15/2016 will become 7/1/2016, etc.
Will this work for you?

Hi,
from where does Your month/year Dimension comes from? is it from a calender or is the Field concatenated in a fact table With sales and Budget? This is probably datamodel related.
Cannot because the Definition>Percentile is grayed out.
Thanks though
The date is from the Calendar
