What does External Event Means ?? and What kinds of events does this includes ?

HEy,

When we configure a trigger for a task den we can choose 3 options:

1: Schedule task

2: On successful completion of a task

3: On External Event

For 2nd option: In  Start the task option , we choose on External Event.

What does this External Event Means ?? and What kinds of events does this includes ?

Please help.

Hi Nikhil,

This means based on an external event you want to start the task.

This can be, ware house refresh completed for example. FTP file arrived.

You have to use a batch file and make a call externally to trigger the job.

Rajesh is right. Like, when the ETL jobs on another server is done you trigger the Job. You use EDX scripting to make external triggers work.
