What is Adhoc? and What are the adhoc features in QlikView?

Hi Folks

As i'm findin g this adhoc word frequently in Business Intelligence i would like to know what it is exactly and how it will be useful.

Can you please mention some of the adhoc features provided by QlikView.

It generally signifies a solution designed for a specific problem or task, non-generalizable, and not intended to be able to be adapted to other purposes.

There is nothing called adhoc features in qv. But yes, it is used in qv to tell you that, you can leave some report generation upto users (upto some extend). This has been possible in qv 11 onwards when we get conditional  enablement of dimension and expression. You can see some examples os the same in 'What's new in qv11' application. Or, see: Adhoc reporting in Qlikview

An Ad-Hoc Query is a query that cannot be determined prior to the moment the query is issued. It is created in order to get information when need arises and it consists of dynamically constructed SQL which is usually constructed by desktop-resident query tools.

You can find an example in the demo app Whats new in Qlikview 11 on the Report tab
