You can use different data sources like

excel file, flat file, inline tables, ms-access, Qlikview file, SQL server , Oracle etc and make qlikview model and use this qlikview application as data source or you can create the QVD from this also.

You can press Ctrl + E or by Standard tool bar click on Edit script button.
