difference between interactive and batch

any one tell me what is difference between interactive and batch schedule of email alert

Interactive - email is sent immediately,

Batch - email/s is sent at a specific time

Batch: Email is sent if alert is triggered by an external program (e. g. Publisher or reload by command line

Interactive: Email is sent if alert condition is true while working in the document, e.g. if an interactive selection makes the condition true.

That's how I understand it.
