Hi all,

I have one a.QVW file and assign document cal as 5. So, is this document can open by concurrent users or anything else.

Can anyone clarify me.

If I remember correctly, QV will attempt to assign a license in this order:

• Name user CAL
• If no named user, then look for a document license
• If no document license, look for a usage license
• If no usage license, then attempt a session license
• And if no license at this point, reject the user.

(usage and session may be the other way around)

This document can be opened by the 5 users that you assigned this calls(and by the Named users)

And Yes, it can be use for concurrent users

hi,

Document Cal and Named Cal are two different type of licence.

Document CAL give access of one user to one document.

A user could have multiple Document CAL (for example to access document A and document B).

But if a user need to access 4 documents or more, it's better to give them a Named Cal (price ratio between Document Cal and Named Cal)

Named Cal give access to one user to N documents.

Licence attribution could be dynamic (server setting), but they need to be manually removed.

Both Named CALs and Document CALs are assigned to Named Users. All users with a CAL that grants them access to a particular document can open that document concurrently, as long as the QMC setting for maximum concurrent sessions isn't exceeded.

The 5 document cals can be used at the same time, concurrently, but only by the 5 users who have been assigned the document cal. The document cals can be assigned to new/different people but there is a 24 hour quarantine period if the document cal has been used in the last 24 hours.
