Hi,
Find this a limitation when first using the Qlik view. Of course 4 tries to open up a qlik view document 'qvw'
causes issues trial/error.
'Your installation of qlikView has exceeded the maximum number of document recoveries allowed for Personal Edition license. To continue using QLikView you will need to purchase a full QLIKView license. Please contact your local QLIKView sales office, a list of which can be found at wwww.qlikview.com.
Yes we have entrprise edition...BUT sometimes you want to do local testing so not to cause corruption on shared env.
Especially for new users. So what qlikview should do is limit the dataset for development... ie max records read say 100K.
This would help alot.
What about leasing a license from the server? How does this corrupt your shared env?
Thanks Stefan taking time to reply.
Actually, before I worked on QLIK Sense. but now I need to use qlikview.
I copied the qvw and related files to my local PC and installed the qlikview locally.
as the qvw has hard code paths/scripts which i do not want to effect other users...also
i need to study the queries and files used in a qvw and scripts so it does not corrupt...
i.e accidently save or run a script that effects orginal qvw or related files. Hence always important for
testing/developing in isolation...Also local install is 200 times faster...as you do not have network performance issues. I have not learnt license in Qlik server...besides would not have access to doco or see ....etc.
from a end-user perspective, the qlikview seems to be PC based...
It's just about leasing the license, so your local installation turns to a full licensed version. After the license lease, you can disconnect from the server.
I am pretty sure that your colleagues should be aware of that procedure if you run an enterprise server, if not, you can enhance your productivity significantly by following
Thanks would you have a link how to lease and install the qlikview license on local PC.
What about the links I've already provided?
Thanks...got a license for 30 days. Overlally compilcated and require too many resources.
