my QV take 5 min to open

Hi All

I have a QV doc . It take very long to open the file.

May I know it there way to speed up ?

I think the issue are :-

QV in memory load all table to ram

Also if you have too many sheet it will take longer to open.

Any work around ?

1. How much size is your qvw file size?

2. Please check CPU usage and RAM usage while opening qvw file..

I feel for any size of document, 5 mins is too much for open ...

Hi Paul,

28MB file is very small while compare to 8 GB RAM.

My suggestion for you to analyze you qvw document by Rob's analyzer on http://robwunderlich.com/downloads/

or Henric's Blog http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2013/01/28/memory-statistics

Yes i have a lot of macro , i just comment all macro.

when i open the QV doc. it ask me do i want to run macro. i click yes , and it take vey long to load.

Do macro cause slow loading ?

I think so.

Try to  disable the macro and open your model again.

My model have the same problem. I didn't found a way to make it easier yet.

Hi Ariel

To prevent the msg pop up. you need to use control M to enter into macro session. and at the lower left conner , you can select "Do not run all micro " and you click ok to exit. the next time you open it will not ask you again.

Any way i notice that it does improve when i don't run the macro. But the improvement is not a lot , only a bit. i must said about 30% faster.( 1 min compare with 1 min 30 sec ) and also it will not pop up msg.
