"Shadow Intensity" disabled on my dashboard

Why is the text object properties "Shadow Intensity" disabled on my dashboard. I need to add a light shadow with a 1pt boarder width around the "Selected Data (Green) object. I can't figure out how it was disabled. Please see attachment screen shot.

Document Properties > General > Styling Mode

Change Styling Mode to Advanced:
