run .qvw file in Qlikview server

Hello Everyone,

I have a .qvw file which was created by my colleague with Qlikview Personal Edition.

Now I have Qlikview server installed, how can I open/run that file through the server ?

What I did:

Copied that .qvw file into some folder in the server.

Open Qlikview Management Console and set the root folder (where my .qvw file is present)

I am not sure what else I have to do after these steps.

If you can open an application in AP then all is good.

What I was saying is when you create a new task you've to run that task to see it in Access Point. But as you can see it already it doesn't matter.

Hi arvind654

Finally I am able to access the qvw files in the access point.

I have deployed 2 files in QVS and able to see those 2 in the access point through some url (that url is opening the access point). by giving username & password I am able to login to that page.

But out of 2 qvw files, I am able to view only one, which has section access implemented in it.

When I open the qvw file which is having section access, it is asking for userid & pwd, and then after the authentication, it is working fine.

When I try to open the qvw file, which is not having section access, it is still asking username & pwd, I am giving the same username & pwd which allows me to login to the Access Point, but those are not working this time.

Can you let me know how to create users to access the qvw files in the access point ?

Even for Section Access there is no need to provide User name and Password

(If you're using NTNAME authentication in your Section Access script).

If no NTName Authentication then yes you can use username & password.

For file w/o Section Access it should not ask the password. Are users able to open the file in Access Point?

If yes then how?

Where have you provided the user name & password for users?

If possible, can you post your Section Access script? And check your other qvw has any section access script?

Thanks.

Hi arvind654

For the file with out section access, it is asking for username & pwd when I click on that file in the access point.

I am the administrator of the Qlikview Sever Machine.

I am not understanding your words related to  "users", I haven't created any users, In fact I don't know how to create.

Here are the screenshots:

When I click on nurse - no sa.qvw file (a qlikview file with no section access it is asking for the username & pwd repeatedly.)

Try the above settings.. hopefully it should work.

Check the above images and verify with your QMC Settings.

I'm using DMS authorization, hence I distribute reports manually whenever I assign task.. (by adding users to distribution list). I'm getting the users from Active Directory.

If you still can't find the issue then I suggest search for how to disable SSO for Access Point.

Thanks.

Hi arvind654

After changing the setting as per your screenshot, when I open Qlikview Access Point, I am getting the below error.

I am looking into the other way

Add your Access Point to Trusted Websites.

And I specifically cannot say what type of error that is. But I suggest you go through any help documents provided by Qlikview/search online for any answers.

Note: Each system is setup according to their environment. Maybe contact your Infrastructure team for more? As I said I'm using DMS authorization, not NTFS (Study more on that).
I also use Section Access but authorize users based on NTNAME and not on username/password.

For NTNAME authorization you'd need to first add an Active Directory in QMC. But your error seem to be different, even an admin cannot see the page.

Maybe make a fresh post to the same question and an expert can help you on this?

Thanks.
