QlikView would directly take the windows login domain/group user name while trying to open the application. Hence, without knowing password of a user and not logging in with his userid, you might not test so. To answer your second question, - he won't be able to access the application, however, 'seeing' depends on other security settings in the server.

Hi,

You need to login with their account, If not you cannot access anything.

May be he can see if he has given access to application but he cannot open application.

With this he is just Authenticated not authorized.

Hi Adi,

please see attached, this option within the document properties will determine if the end user will 'see' the application in the access point or not based on the section access you have applied

hope that helps

If you are using DMS authorization, in your document authorization user User Type as 'Named Users'. In case NTFS authorization, right click on the application file/folder->Security tab-> Add the desired users, ..

If you have publisher, then this can be easily controlled.

if not then you have to define ( add or remove) user from windows NTFS security system.

JoeSimmons seems interesting.  I haven't tried this

I like it as it just takes away the pain of deciding who see's what through QMC, you can set the document on the access point to all authenticated users (so you still get the check on NTFS) for instance and then the section access kicks in after that point to determine if the user actually has visibility of the document.
