is there a better way  to write (simplify) this formula

sum({1<TRIM={'$(vMaxS1)','$(vMaxS2)'}>}[QTY])  /  sum( {1<TRIM={'$(vMaxS1)','$(vMaxS2)'}>} total <TRIM> [QTY])

I don't think so.

You are using set Analysis .
