triggers and variable values , timing

Hi I am trying to replace a listbar by individual buttons (because i need triggers behind a field in AJAX/ipad environment)

Problem is that a user should be able to select multiple countries , so I want to build up a string based on button vlaues (0/1).

There seems to be a delay in buildig my variable behind the triggers and the value of my variable.

see text obkect in example first row is value of variable last row is same calculation. Can anyone explain and problably give a solution?

found a workaround, problem still is interesting

workaround is to adress an action on variable change instead of field triggers (problem of not activating in AJAX clients)
