Introduction
A new addition to the Google Maps family. This extensions will take your data points and produce a heatmap on top of a Google Map.
A good tool easily spot areas with higher intensity of data points. There is no selection support for this extension has there is no markers available at the moment.
You can either use the extension 'as is' or use it as a base to further customize it to fit your needs.
2013-12-14
Finally tracked down the errors when you tried to pass in faulty data.
Less DOM-calls.
2013-06-04
Added a check that QV passes valid data points to Google. If you are passing an invalid data point it will log it to the console in your browser.
Also enabled weighted data points. Now the weight if your data point in the heatmap will correspond to your expression value. If you want equal weight between the points, e.g the original heatmap where the number of data points determined your heat level, set a arbitrary value of =1

Hi Alex
It seems I'm not able to add colour using a calculated expression
I already have a working colormix1() expression for this, however this expression, once entered, disappears.
Hi Alexander ,
The Heat Map extension is not working for me , even though the cluster extension works on the same data and the same sheet. I am currently using QV 11 SR8. Attached find a snapshot of the same.
Will be great if you can let me know what's going wrong here ?
Many Thanks..
Shubhashish

Wow! Great extension! Thank You!
It works fine for me, but on Web view mode, but when I zoom, the ram is filled up to become saturated, and I am forced to terminate the process.
Hi,
I think that "GoogleMaps HeatMap" doesn't work if in the same dashboard there is a "GoogleMaps marker" .
Hi Alexander,
This is the best. I have everything working.
Can help me with my 2 questions, these would be nice.
1. when I zoom into a heatpoint the heatpoint doesn't shrink with the zoom, is there anyway for the heat points to scale with the zoom level.
2. when only one lon/lat is selected the map auto zooms in and I cant seem to zoom out at all. so i don't get to see the location.
Qlikview V11.2.0.13206.0 SR13
Thankyou in advance.
Matt
I have done all you suggest but my object has no map, nor layers!
I have checked my data is all sensible (UK lat/lon).
As you suggest, issues seem to revolve around the version of IE but I'm on 11.0.9600.
Could you suggest what else I might check ?
Thanks
I'm using Workbench to integrate QlikView objects in a .NET page. "Heatmap" and "Marker" maps works fine, but Cluster map does not appear...
If I open the dashboard thru Accesspoint it works fine, but with wokbench I don't know what appends:
If I debug with internet exporer "inspect element " I found this error:
You have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.
And those warnings:
1. Google Maps API warning: NoApiKeys https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#no-api-keys
2. Google Maps API warning: SensorNotRequired https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#sensor-not-required
I tried to insert a google key, and also remove sensor, with no success.
Hey, I have this working fine in QV Desktop, but just tried to add it to the server and now Google Chrome crashes when I try to view the sheet. IE does a bit better and will show the sheet, but the object itself crashes.
The extension was added to the correct folder on the Server.
Any thoughts?
Hi Alexander. DO you know how to change the language in google maps?. It works ok but the map is in Spanish and i need it in English. Any idea how can I change that? Thanks a lot!! You helped me a lot with this!
Thanks in advanced
Erica
Hi Alex.
I'm trying to use your extension, but I' having some troubles with calculated colours. When I put an expresion it simply disappears. Could you give me an example using calculated point fill colors, please? Thank you
