Setting Alternate State in Definiton.xml

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible/the syntax of initiating an alternate state to an extension object. My object is a scrolling text and it keeps resetting whenever a selection is made. I have something like this:

  <Initiate Name="General.AlternateState" Value="Test" />

But I am not sure if this is the correct syntax.
