Hi,
Our company has 64bit QlikView and 64 bit Server running on a 64 bit machine, unfortunately the database that we are using "Progress" does not come with a 64 bit ODBC connection. I have the 32 bit connection working through ODBC Admin 32. Unfortunately I am unable to get QlikView to recognise the connections. Select "Connect" in the wizard, the first box appears containing the connections that I have created in ODBC Admin. Regardless of what I try next QlikView will not prompt for the connection details and return to the scripting screen and not insert the connection text. Any help would be nice !!
Hi,
I had similar issue, well not really similar, but I wasn't able to install the ODBC driver on my x64 server.
The workaround I found was to ask the progress admin to run a daily tables dump.
So I'm using the odbc on my machine for test purposes.
More generally, when you need to use 32 bits odbc drivers, you can also install Qlikview 32 on your server and reload your referential applications via a batch so that it will use 32 bits odbc drivers.
Qlikview 64 will only see 64 bits odbc drivers installed.
Rgds,
Sébastien
It's a little difficult to read, but this may answer your question:
Thanks for your prompt reply,
I had read that document, is was that document that enabled me to set up the ODBC connections in control panel. I might be totally misunderstanding the document but the way I read it was if I can see the 32bit connections through ODBC Admin and the connections work I should be able to see them through QlikView 64bit ?

Not knowing much about ODBC this might be a silly question ...
Does the same apply for OLE DB connections ?
