Alternate state question

Hi

I hope someone can help me or direct me to find a solution to my problem.  I have sheet with 2 alternate states (Group 1 and Group 2).  I have a dimension that is in both states.  Let's call it Department.  So I have a Department listbox that is in Group 1 and I have a Department listbox that is in Group 2.  I then also have a bar graph that displays an expression on each of the states.  My problem is that I want to display the selected Department in each state on the bar graph as vertical text.

I don't get it. What does it mean by "display the selected Department in each state on the bar graph as vertical text"? Can you give a screen shot or something?
