Carry forward / Brought Forward Values

How can we achieve carry forward values in a pivot or straight table, the simplest example I can think of is an Annual budget ?

Jan,Feb,Mar etc
Opening bal
Income
Expenditure
Closing Bal

Ie Closing Bal for Jan becomes opening bal for Feb,
