Column expanding and collapsing is feasible in qlikview. If yes what needs to be done?

Do you mean that to be done like Pivoting? In that case you can use the Pivot Chart.

If you need something else, please give a sample scenario describing the requirement clearly.

Yes, Pivot table only create hierarchy order and you could view the data on the leaner level data.
