Creating a Whale Curve

Can anyone show me how to create a "whale curve" in QlikView? A whale curve is a line chart that shows how customers contribute to overall profitability, you can see an example below (more information can be found here: http://www.davidcarr.co.nz/blog/index.php/tag/whale-curve/)

The problem I am having is creating the calculated dimension that shows the cumulative percentage of customer on the X-axis (alternatively, the total cumulative number of customers would be ok too). If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

When you create the line chart, try doing this:

Go to Properties -----> Expressions -----> Under display options set the 'Line' to Smooth.

Christopher, thanks for your reply. My problem is not actually with creating a smooth line, I know how to do that. The problem is the dimension on the X-axis, how can I get it to display the cumulative amount of customers?

I did a graph like this. Just sort your dimension by the expression descending and then use full accummulation on your expression

I actually solved this problem sometime ago, the trick is to create a calculated dimension using the rank function and then set the x-axis to continuous. I am actually preparing a blog post/example application on how to create these type of charts, I will post it here once it's done.
