Cumulus Data ".info-Files"

Dear community,

as far as I can see, the Cumulus organizes the files like this:

A folder that matches the filename, with a pair in it for each version of a file
00000001.data
00000001.info

.data might be the asset binary.
What is the info file or what content does it have and what tool can it be opened with?
