I would recommend you to get even more inspiration from the execlent Qlik demo site for QlikView https://demos.qlik.com/qlikview/
If you are logged you will even get access to download the qvw files for several of the examples. I believe you can learn a lot and get even more inspired from examining these best practice examples.
There are hundreds of posts there on different functions etc. and examples that may prove useful to you.
