Direct Discovery sample

hello all,

      I have used Direct Discovery in edit script ,i have attached the photos

and the first one is  using direct discovery n other is without using DD, i am not getting what difference is it making in load time? ,how can i check the performance? ,how its useful for me to use direct discovery here?
