Distance between PostCodes

I have a table of customer postcodes (with Lat & Long) and I would like to calculate the distance of each from about 12 different depots (and then find the closest depot to each postcode).

Has anyone done something similar using Google Maps API (driving distance), perhaps using a QV extension?

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks as always for quick response.

All the discussions I have seen so far use fairly complicated calculations. In an attempt to keep my QV model simple, I was hoping to find someone who had already used Google maps to do this - I have recently used a borrowed QV extension to display Google heat maps

Maybe I will try to find the time to build an extension myself.
