EBCDIC files

Hello !

Is it possible to read files , plain text files, coded in EBCDIC instead of ASCII ?

This is because many of our files are downloaded from a mainframe and if we could load'em in EBCDIC and have QV to translate them to ASC we would save mainframe cpu to convert them to ASC...

Not something so serious but it would be a nice optimization !

Thanks !

It's possible, but I have no idea how easy or hard it actually is. See this post for an example.

Your post helped me !

It's CODEPAGE 500, from what I've seen in there...

Now I've got to test it here.

Thanks !
