Formatting questions (dimensions)

Is it possible to achieve the following in qlikview?

1 - subtotal based on a dimension, without having the dimension displayed on the report?

2 - display one dimension as a row, all other dimensions as columns?

2) I think that's possible with a pivot table, you could interactively drag the fields from row to column presentation

1) I don't understand yet, could you give an example?
