Help with If statement in script

Hi all,

I'm working on a requirement where a field will have vaues and a '*'.

* means select every value in the field.

I/P:

ID
1
2
3
4
5
6
*

O/P: - Might be this?

ID	New ID
1	1
2	2
3	3
4	4
5	5
6	6
*	1
*	2
*	3
*	4
*	5
*	6
